| IAPsolutions reinforces its Smart Grid strategy |
|
The International Telecommunications Union formally launched a smart grid standards focus group - FG Smart. Its first meeting will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, June 14-16, 2010. The scope of efforts includes identification of potential impacts on standards development; investigation of future ITU-T study items and related actions; familiarization of ITU-T and standardization communities with emerging attributes of smart grid; and encouragement of collaboration between ITU-T and smart grid communities. UTC along with its sister organizations abroad EUTC, UTC Canada, and APTEL are closely watching this development. More information is available on the web at www.itu.int/ITU-T/focusgroups/smart/
In the United States are also working in this issue with an initiative driven by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) as a result of Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA). IAPsolutions, as a provider of Smart Grid Networks Management technology, is participating in both initiatives. In the United States the company is participating as an observer in the NIST initiative through the SGIP (Smart Grid Interoperability Panel). In Spain is participating through its presence in AETIC´s Smart Grid Group/ Smart Meters. With these actions,IAPsolutions reaffirms its strategy of being positioned as a leading provider in Smart Grid management solutions, with INMS solutions (integrated management) and Collaborative NMS (collaborative management). |
